Bangkoks Best Rooftop Bars & Restaurants

As the capital of Thailand, Bangkok is a beautiful city worth admiring and what better way to do it than from above? The city boasts some of the most magnificent rooftop bars and restaurants, and while you might not be able to drink after your surgery, its still worth checking out these bars just for the view…. And maybe a mocktail.

Vertigo and Moon Bar

If you are looking for an unforgettable night with Bangkok beneath your feet, then head up to Vertigo restaurant on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel. From here you can see skyscrapers as far as the river and tiny ant-like lines of slowly moving traffic winding through the city. This is five star rooftop dining, accompanied by thoughtful service and delicious food. The food is international Asian fusion, with delights such as fresh lobster spring rolls with mango chutney, duck tagine, sea bass on a bed of dauphinoise potatoes, with Thai tea crème brûlée to finish.

Sirocco and Sky Bar

Sirocco and Sky Bar are in competition with Vertigo and Moon bar for the Best rooftop bar in Bangkok! These 2 great properties are located just down the road from one another, so you can always try both and make up your own mind. Both Sirocco and Sky bar have an edge over Vertigo as they have both city and river views. This bar and restaurant are located on the 63rd floor of The Dome at Lebua. Sirocco and Sky Bar does offer a little bit more room to move around than Vertigo

Above Eleven

Perched 32 floors on top of the Fraser Suites is the aptly named “Above Eleven” as it overlooks Sukhumvit soi 11 and is one of the best rooftop bars in Bangkok in terms of value for money. This place mimics a rooftop garden or park that’s matched perfectly well with a sunset view over Bangkok city.

Apart from great cocktails and drinks, Above Eleven is well-known for its Peruvian/Japanese fusion cuisine. Try the Discover Peru – 5 course tasting menu for 1 – 2 people with a Mojito or a glass of white wine.

Three Sixty

Take the lift to Three Sixty on the 32nd floor of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok hotel. Sit back and enjoy the gentle jazz wash over you while you enjoy their signature cocktail (which include Ingredients such as Ketel One, raspberry liqueur, crème de cassis, fresh ginger, fresh strawberry, and lime wedge) and some of the most magnificent views the city has to offer.

The bar consists of two different areas: One is a large rectangular open air space covering the entire middle part of the building, and the other part, is an amazing 360 degrees cupola balanced one floor above.

Octave Rooftop Bar & Lounge

Sometimes rooftops bars are created on top of hotels or apartments after they are built. This is not the case with Octave Rooftop Bar & Lounge, which was created in mind while the Marriott Sukhumvit Hotel was being built. Octave prides itself on being a Chic bar, their resident DJ’s playing everyday and showcasing fusion food like Asian-style tapas platters along with the finest in wines and cocktails.

Octave’s best feature is that it has four levels with the highest one being a 360 degree view rooftop deck.

If you are looking for somewhere chic to have a sunset cocktail or to enjoy a rooftop dinner, then Zense rooftop is a great choice. The view is fantastic, from the horseracing track to the lines of traffic moving slowly out of town at the end of the day. But what we really love about Zense rooftop is its location. Walking through CentralWorld you’d never expect there to be such a cool and funky venue just above you. Despite the fact that it’s so easy to get to, with Chit Lom BTS only five minutes away, it doesn’t draw the same crowds as some other rooftop destinations in Bangkok. In our eyes this is only a good thing.
