So what is iLASIK?

iLASIK is the latest in Lasik Technology from the United States for correcting vision problems using an all–laser technology throughout the treatment, from creating the flap to using the Advanced Custom Vue laser in gently reshaping the cornea.

Step 1: Using Wavescan to recognize the corneal surface and iris’ prints. This is to keep the eye’s identity before the vision correction.

Step 2: Using Femtosecond Laser to create a flap gently and precisely without using blade.

Step 3: The cornea’s surface is reshaped by a high precision Multi 7 laser Custom Designed specifically for each individual’s eye.

Step 4: The final step of the treatment is placing back the flap to its original position letting the cornea heal by itself.

What are the steps in having iLASIK surgery?

First you will have your eye examination to see if you are suitable to have iLasik treatment. This is done by an Ophthalmologist through a 3D mapping of the corneal surface. Once confirmed that you are candidate your surgery day will be booked and you will receive antibiotic and anaesthetic eye drops to eliminate pain during the procedure.

The Ophthalmologist will then perform the procedure in reshaping the corneal curvature according to the treatment plan as analysed by the computer system. The Ophthalmologist is in control of the whole process. The surgery itself only takes 15-20minutes for both eyes. You’ll feel some pressure on your eye and the sensation usually lasts less than a minute. All up you will only need to be at the centre for 2 hours.

You are then given your post op instructions and be able to return to your hotel that same day to have a good night rest. You will have a follow up with your Ophthalmologist before heading home and the rest of your routine check-ups can be completed in your own country.
